Imagine a World
in which it is easy to find someone to turn to who
understands your struggles, identifies with your wounds,
and knows how lonely and scary it feels to live inside
your skin.
In this fantastic brave new world, you would face your
eating disorder head on, standing tall and firm with
supportive friends by your side as you get better—and stay
that way! Well our next guest, author. speaker, writer,
performing songwriter and mentor, Shannon Cutts will talk
about her book “Beating Ana: How to outsmart your eating
disorder and take your life back” shows us how to open the
door to this world as she introduces you to a whole new
way of thinking about and recovering from your eating
disorder. Beating Ana takes on a new approach
that no eating disorder book has taken; she emphasizes the
importance of mentoring relationships to the recovery
process.
Shannon is a
speaker, writer, performing songwriter and mentor.
She is also and most importantly a
SURVIVOR.
After emerging triumphantly from a
fifteen-year battle with anorexia & bulimia, Shannon
began giving motivational, inspirational concerts to
share hope and empowerment with others who were hurting.
Soon her audiences began to ask for the stories behind
her songs. It wasn't long before Shannon was being
invited to speak about the HOW-TO's behind her powerful
story of recovery.
In 2004, Shannon founded
Key to Life: unlocking the door to
hope, an outreach organization
that offers powerful programs, workshops, concerts,
products, and services to facilitate recovery from
eating and related disorders.
In 2008, partnering up with a team of
leaders in the field of eating disorders recovery,
Shannon founded
MentorCONNECT,
the first global mentoring network to connect those in
strong recovery from eating disorders with those needing
recovery support.
As of February 2009, Health
Communications, Inc. is proud to announce the release of
her first book,
Beating Ana: How to Outsmart Your
Eating Disorder and Take Your Life Back.
Now, through the many Key to Life
programs, concerts and her new book, Shannon guides
sufferers, families, support team members and whole
communities to reach for and ACHIEVE their recovery
goals.
Together, we are "bringing healthy
back" into our homes, our schools, our communities and
our LIVES.
