Our guest today is upcoming Country music artist
Amanda Nagurney. You will hear some of her music as well
as learn about Amanda's story as she begins her rise to
the top of the charts. This interview is part of our
local musician segment.
Amanda Nagurney, 21 year old singer,
songwriter and musician is in the process of finalizing
her album "So Full of Country". She began listening to
country music at a very young age and by the age of
seven realized her passion of singing and performing.
While on a trip to Nashville, Amanda toured the Country
Music Hall of Fame and recorded at the famous Ryman
Auditorium. It was here as she learned the history of
country music and found this is where her heart lies.
Amanda recorded her debut album,
"Gettin' Out Of This Town" at Soundshop Studios in
Nashville, TN. Amanda has sung the National Anthem for
the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, World's Toughest
Rodeo and the Buffalo Bisons. Amanda continues to sing
in a variety of venues, including festivals, nightclubs
and fairs. She has opened for many Nashville Recording
Artists such as Phil Vassar, Joe Nichols, Sammy Kershaw,
The John Corbett Band, Locash Cowboys, Gavin Degraw and
Miranda Lambert. Amanda enjoys giving back and doing
charity work. Amanda was recently requested to sing the
National Anthem at Louisville Slugger Field for USA
Cares. Amanda has performed for many charities including
Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Connecticut Street
Armory, Fort Drum in Watertown, Woman & Children's
Hospital of Buffalo, Jim Kelly's Hunter's Hope, The Red
Cross, Make A Wish Foundation, and many others. At the
present time, Amanda is part of a collaboration CD and
project titled "IN REMEMBRANCE". USA Cares is a large
corporation involved in the project which exists to
provide military families with financial support and
other critical resources in their time of need.
Resulting from this, Amanda will be appearing on several
TV and radio shows and will soon have a large concert
tour throughout the United States.
For the second consecutive year Amanda has been
nominated as Best Female Vocalist and in 2009 Best
Acoustic Duo in the Buffalo Music Awards. Her popularity
continued into 2009 by making the "Top 30" week after
week, month after month on the "Independent Music
Network" radio. By the end of January 2009, she made the
Number 1 and Number 2 spots on the charts in both the
country and mainstream categories. Amanda's original
song, "Gettin' Out Of This Town" made it to Number 3 on
the country music charts in Spain, right ahead of Chuck
Wicks and Blake Shelton. She was voted next rising star
in Music Rising Star Magazine.Adding to her continued
success, Amanda's music video was aired in parts of the
country on the AFN Country Network. Amanda is gearing up
and eagerly awaiting her upcoming tour which kicks off
October 18, 2009 along with Global Alliance and USA
Cares. The tour ends April 18, 2010 in Dollywood Theme
Park.
In addition to her many talents on stage, Amanda enjoys
songwriting and playing her guitar. She continues to
perform live shows and actively getting involved with
outside vocal projects and events. The spotlight is not
the only thing shining while Amada is on stage. With her
many years of experience, her determination, drive and
her love and passion for performing, Amanda brings
excitement and enthusiasm to any stage she steps onto.
