ACCORDING TO THE NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION OF THE
BIBLE, PSALM 95:1 READS: “Come,
let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud
to the Rock of our salvation.”
AS PART OF OUR
SPECIAL MUSICIAN SERIES, AND PART OF OUR SUNDAY
CHRISTIAN SHOW, WE ARE PROUD TO WELCOME TO YOUR LIFE
MATTERS MUSICIAN, SONGWRITER, PRODUCER AND SINGER
MICHAEL STOVER.
Angelspeak is the creation of
lead vocalist and songwriter, Michael Stover.
Michael is a former member of Forever Endeavor
(Christian Metal), Stormfront (rock) and 2nd to None
(coverband). He is a Billboard Magazine Songwriters
Contest winner (Cold-Blooded), and his songs have
been recorded by Bryan Cole, Kevin Morgan, Deanna
Dawn Denning, and Vonne Andring. With Angelspeak,
Michael is dedicated to testifying through its
melodic rock with a message. Angelspeak's debut cd
will begin production late 2010.
Michael Stover began playing the drums at age 11 and
writing songs at age 13. After performing in a
number of garage bands, Michael formed 2nd to None,
a cover band that included Bryan Cole (now a
Nashville recording artist) and Phil MacDowell (Buzz
Poets.) After playing the Pittsburgh rock
scene for 2 years, Michael left the band and joined
Christian rock band, Forever Endeavor.
Consisting of former Tempered Steel members, Jim
Bernacki and Dan Lauritzen, as well as guitar
virtuoso, Brady Novotny, Forever Endeavor rocked the
Pittsburgh club scene for 2 years, toured the
Northeast, and recorded a demo that garnered some
label interest. Unfortunately, creative
differences put an end to the band.
Following the demise of Forever Endeavor, Michael
formed Stormfront. The band reunited him with
Bryan Cole and Phil MacDowell, as well as another
guitar shredder, Xander Demos, and another future
Buzz Poet, Todd Demont. Stormfront was born
out of a CD project at the Art Institute of
Pittsburgh, where Michael attended. On the CD,
Stormfront recorded, "Cold-Blooded," a song that won
Michael 3rd Place in the 1990 Billboard Magazine
Songwriters Contest. After several months of
playing the Pittsburgh rock scene, and several
guitarist changes, Stormfront signed a management
deal with Sam Parrish, daughter of Marvin Witofsky,
renowned entertainment attorney for CBS records.
Unfortunately, the band could not survive
the creative tensions building within the band.
After
Stormfront dissolved, Michael and Bryan worked
together with Forever Endeavor guitarist Brady
Novotny. They produced a 3 song demo that made
the rounds of the record companies. After
receiving some positive feedback on the demo, the
group split.
Michael continued his songwriting and in the late
90s, had 4 songs cut by country artist Kevin Morgan.
In the meantime, Michael continued to write and
record solo material. By the mid-2000s, he had
almost given up on the music industry, when God
called him to form his latest project, Angelspeak,
in 2009.
With Angelspeak, Michael is back in top form.
This time, he is out front, singing melodic rock
with a message. Fans have been excited for the
new music and have made Angelspeak one of the top
Christian rock acts in Pittsburgh. Currently
working on their debut CD with a tentative release
scheduled for 2010.
